  1. 1.I really liked the short story "A Rose for Emily", the story was interesting because it had you thinking a little bit.It was a good story because it rewind back time on Emily's life in where her life took place and how cruel it was. I also liked the story because she thought different from others and her life wasn't how she expected it to turn out. I only dislike the story on how her father treated her. She didn't kno many people so her life was boring, lonely, and miserable.

2.I hope one of the questions on the test is about Homer Barron. Homer played a big role in Emily's life and I liked how he treated her before trying to dismiss his self from her life. I also liked the fact that he showed her very much attention in her life for bringing her what she needed. I dis like the fact of how he was gone leave her but it lead to his death. I like the part when she dreamed of there wedding which she died in a room dressed on wedding material.

3.There isn't any thing that I hope that isn't on the test. I have gotten the understand of the story. I know how to interpret the story so it's not much I don't know of it. The story know make since, know that we have took time an went over it.

  2. 1). The short story "A Rose for Emily" is nice and put together well. For example, I knew that Mr. Homer was dead because the last place he was seen was going in her house. I also knew by her wanting poison from the dealers. On the other hand I don't like the story as a whole, I only liked the ending. Not because it wasn't good but because of the time it took place. I hate to read a story with slaves in it, maybe because I can't accept the fact that our ancestors were actually treated as property without putting up a fight. The reason I liked the ending is because it was very descriptive with how the upstairs room looked. I also liked the ending because it was creepy and I didn't expect for an old woman to be sleeping with a dead body ,usually men do that, but that was a cool twist to the story.

    2) I hope there's a question about the upstairs room. I was thinking in an opinion form that has to have evidence on why we think what ever your question is so. Oh a cool question would be, what do you think went on in the upstairs room? Was he starved, tortured, or raped etc.? Why do you think this? I would like to do a question because I was wondering what actually went on up there. And with a question like that I would be able to let my imagination explode!

    3) Well, I'm not really sure on what I hope isn't on the test because the story was quite simple. Yet knowing you, you'll probably have some questions I wish weren't on there. So, a question I hope won't be on the test is probably the kinda difficult ones you had on that worksheet you gave us, which by the way was very time consuming.

  3. 1. I enjoyed reading the story " Desiree's Baby " it was an interesting story. even tho i really didn't understand to much of it until you explained it I begin to get it more. Desiree's Baby was mainly about her child people trying to figure out what was going on with it. Once everything started to happen her husband did not want to be around her or the child. after a while they begin writhing letters to each other. once she got the last one she decide to throw them all away on the bonfire in the backyard.

    2. One thing that i hope is on the test is why did her husband decide to leave Desiree. i want this question because this was like the main climax out of the whole story. I think he left her because of what others was thinking about her and the child.

    3. I do not think there was anything that i hope don't be on the test.since the story was explained i think that i will understand most of the questions that be on the test on Monday. Mainly with the story all you will have to know is about her and he child hat was going on and why it happened. It may be some question i wish wasn't once i see it but i will have to analyze it.

  4. I like the story "A Rose for Emily " by William Faulkner because it keep you wondering and interested in what type of person Ms Emily was. The story was very descriptive which gave me a lot of imagery and with the imagery I could picture a lot of things. For example: "During the next few years it grew grayer and grayer until it attained an even pepper-and-salt iron-gray,when it ceased turning. That let me know she was a very old, gray headed woman.
One question that I hope is on there is,based on the story why do you think Ms.Emily father treated her the way he did but treated people within the community different. That should be a question because him treating her that way played a big part in why she was the way she were.
I can't think of a specific question that shouldn't be on there. I sorta understand the story after talking about it in class.

  5. 1. The story "Desiree's Baby" was very confusing after really reading it once. I kept asking myself what is this story talking about, like who is who and what is what in the story. When i was told to define the words in the story that i didnt know i understood it a little more. So i read the whole story back over to get more understanding of it and get it's main point of it and i did. Reading "Desiree's Baby" was very interesting and very confusing its a story that makes you think about it even after reading it over and over!
    2. On the test i hope theirs a question about how do we think Desiree feel about Armand putting her out. Because Armand was wrong he mislead her and the baby just cause of the baby color, he refused to listen to what she had to say. So she stops trying to explain her self and moves out with her mom. Also i would want the question about how we think Armand felt after reading the letter his mother wrote him. Only cause he was wrong for doing her and the baby like that instead of stopping to think who were his real parents.
    3. The vocabulary words that i dont fully understand. The story consists of alot of big words that makes me not understand the story. So i choose all vocabulary words shouldnt be anywhere on the test. The vocabulary makes up the test but its very confusing with them but after reviewing it in class as a whole class i kinda understand the story.

  6. 1.I actually like the short stories we are reading. These things like this have me ready to learn other than long dead stories. These things can also be challenging. But "Desiree Baby" also has me thinking and it catches my attention. I like these short stories alot. 2. I hope all the questions we talked about in class are on the test. I say this because I knew almost all the answers. This is a easy assignment for me to get a easy grade. I hope we have questions about what race was her mama. Some questions like this I would like to appear on the test. 3.I don't really know what questions I would not like to be on the test. The reason I don't is because I know my whole story. I know it all so I can't say what I want to see and what I don't want to see these are some on the reason I am ready for my test and don't have any questions

  7. (1)Well I like reading shorts so our class have time to finish. I think that if we can continue reading shorter stories we'll probably get finish in time. As long as the stories are boring am ok with them. The story "Desiree Baby" is a nice story to read after school because it helps me understand at home a little.

(2)What I think what will be on the test will probably be some of our vocabulary word will get involved while we are having the story "Desiree Baby". Also I think we will have a few easy questions on the story(If you have read the story). I think it will be a little difficult because of the vocab words on it.

(3)I can't think of anything that won't be on the test. If there is something I'm just gonna prey and be prepare for whatever it is

  8. 1. I really enjoyed read the short story called "Desiree's Baby". It was very hard at first to understsnd. I had to read it about three time to understand what was goin on. Then we got vocaburly words out of the story to get a better understanding to. It made it a little more clear for me to understand.
There are many questions I hope that will be on the test about "Desiree's Baby". Like did her husband take her back. He was very wrong for his action. Another question is that did he really find out his race. Armand had took Desiree thourgh alot.
    2. There are so many questions I want to ask about the story. We need to read part 2 if there is one.
    3. There is not really nothing that I can think of. I want to know more abot the story. It was very exciting to me.

  9. 1. The story "A Rose for Emily" was very interesting to me. I liked the fact that the story was not in order so it required me to dig deeper into the story. For example, I was wondering why Mr. Barron did not marry her. I saw that he was different later in the story. The story interested me a lot and still leaves me questions about it.

    2. I hope the story have questions about her father. How did he impact her on who she is now after he had died? Her father had a huge role in the story to me even though he was not in it much. If it was not for him, Emily would not be the person she was later in the story. I am really looking forward to seeing a question like this.

    3. I hope the test does not include that part about her family. It was very strange to me. I could not understand why they would do her like that. This is about the only question I hope that is not on the test.

  10. 1. The story "A Roe for Emily" was very interesting to me. It really made you think what type of character Emily was in the story. Also, the story use a lot of imagery and you could see what happen in the story. In the story it kept you wondering what was going on in the story. For example, i was wondering why did Emily keep her fathers body and what did she plan on doing with it.

    2. I hope the test have question about what happen to Emily father? How did it impact Emily's life. What did Emily need arsenic for in the story.I also hope that it have question on how did the room upstairs in the house.

3.I hope the test doesn't have a question regarding her family which treated her like she was nothing at all. And another question that i feel should not be on the test is why didn't Mr. Barron who did not marry Ms. Emily.I feel that it shouldn't be on there because in the story it said that he was gay.

  11. 1.The story "Desiree's Baby"was a good story. When I first read it, I was kind of confused until I got on into the story.
    2. I hope the test will have questions about why did Armand put Desiree out? Why did no one tell him that his mom were black??
    3. I hope the test don't have anything that deals with writing an essay answer for a essay question.

  12. 1. The story "A Roes for Emily" was something that really had me thinking at first. After reading it again and paying attention to what happened in the story I started to understand it better. The story had lots of imagery I'm it so while I was reading I could see it in my head. An example of that is when the room thy no one had gone in until after Emily's death was described. Overall it was a good story and I I enjoyed it after getting a better understanding of it.
    2. One thing I hope is on the test is about how the towns people solved the problem of the smell that was coming from the house. The reason I want this on the test is because I know exactly what they did to solve the problem. Another thing I hope is on the test a question or two from our first test on the story. Other than those things I can't really think if anything else I want to see on the test.
    3. Something that I hope isn't on the test are long essay questions. Other than that I can't think of anything I don't want on the test.

  13. 1. The story "A Rose for Emily" was really a good story and not the type I would read. I really lied it because it keep me wondering what was going to happen next. After looking up vocabulary I understood it clearly what had happened to Homer. An example of this is when everybody was looking for him and he never showed up again. To summarizes this story I really enjoyed this creepy and mysterious story.
2.One thing I hope is on the test is about how the townpeople reacted to the smell that was in the house. The reason being is that I know how they felt about the ordor coming from the house and what they did to solve the problem. There are many things I hope are on the test but I can only imagine this one.
    3. Something that I hope isn't on the test are the vocabulary words because I'm not good with remembering vocabulary words. This is one of my weakness in your class, please don't use it against me Mrs.Foster. This is all I can think of as far as me not wanting on the test.

  14. 1.)The story "Desiree's Baby" was something different to me, it was a little odd at first and than I kept reading it. Overall I enjoyed it. When we was given the vocabulary words, it help me get a better understanding of the story. While reading the story, I could picture some of the things that was going in the story in my head. Reading a short story like "Desiree's Baby" was very new to me. I guess that's what made it very interesting. All in all this story will have your mind wondering.
2.) One thing I hope is on the test everything we went over in class and who was black ,was it Armand or Desiree?
3.)One thing that I hope is not on the test is essays question because those are the hardest to justify.

  15. The story "Desiree's Baby" was confusing. When I first started reading it, I didn't understand until I got finished and pieced it together. One thing I hope is on the test is, questions that we had on the worksheet. The work sheet questions were easy to answer if you read the story. One thing I hope is not on the test are questions that make me feel like I am repeating myself by asking he same questions but in a different form.

  17. 1. In the short story "Desiree's Baby" personally it was very hard me to understand. I had to really analyze this story part by part to get any understanding at all. As we got together as a whole talked about it i kind of got the whole idea of this short story. Do i like this story no because its seem as if they didnt want the baby because of its skin color . Also because Desiree was confuse of her own race it made me mad Because shes to old be confuse about her race.
    2. I hope the test have a question about what color was Desiree because im dying to find out.
    3. I hope the test do not a question about what color Desiree is because as i stated earlier i dying to find out& personally i really dont know either.

  18. The story Desiree's Baby was good overall. It started off being odd and confused. Desiree's Baby is a story that deals with depression, love and family problems. One thing I hope to have on the test is analyzing because I understand the story better and I can break it down better. What I hope to not have is writing essays about the story.

  20. I completely love the short story "A Rose for Emily" . This story was interesting , while reading it I had goose bumps, especially when the towns people were sneaking around Emily's house , I was scared for them. The imagery within the story made me want to continue reading because of me being able to picture everything that was going on. Reading "A Rose for Emily", in my opinion, would be a great lifetime movie. I really hope for our test we'll have to identify and explain the characters, and questions that involve our opinion, because I love the characters in this story, and I have many opinions about the story. I would not like to have to analyze the story, because for me it takes a while to put my thoughts together.

  22. . I really enjoyed read the short story called "Desiree's Baby". It was very hard at first to understand but I read it more than once. I liked the story overall Then we got vocaburly words out of the story to get a better understanding to it.

    2. I hope things that relate to desiree and armand relationship is on the test. I also hope questions that relate to the change of the baby skin color is on the test.

3.One thing I hope ain't on the test is analyzing the story. Analyzing stories are hard to me especially if you don't understand the story. I really don't like putting the definiton's on a word if I have to write the definition.

  23. 1. I actually loved the short story "A Rose for Emily" . It slick had me confused at first it was a lot of thinking you had to do. The story had you doing a lot of imagining I also liked the story because she thought she wasn't like everybody else. Her father also treated her differently. I Think he was the caused of why her life was so boring .
    2. Why did Emily father treated her that way? Because the way he treated her plays a big part in the story . Like why she never did wanted company , why did she always wanted to be alone.
    3. I hope the test doesn't has a question about the smell in the house because I still couldn't figure out the answer to it.!

  24. 1. The story this week Desiree Baby was great. I enjoyed reading it, I have read it three times. It starts off boring but then it gets exciting. I don't like the part where Desiree's husband goes to acting different towards her. He didn't have to turn on his wife like that but I recommend anyone to read it, it's a good story.
    2. I was hoping it would be multiple choice because I was scared that I would forget my answers if I had to write them. I really wish a question about Armand finding out about his mother and her culture was on the because I knew the whole entire answer to that.
    3. I was hoping nothing about Desiree's baby was on there because I was still confused on that part and didn't understand.
